Most RC airplane manuals I've seen are very clear on the fact that RC airplanes are not toys and need to be treated with respect. I'll reiterate that here: RC airplanes - even very small ones - have the potential to be extremely dangerous and you need to give their handling and use your full attention. There is potential for grievous personal injury and extensive property damage. Potential dangers include:
- Spinning propellers
- Aircraft in flight
- Improper charging of Lithium Polymer (LiPo) batteries
The safest place to fly is at a club sanctioned by the Model Aeronautics Association of Canada (MAAC) or the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA). Such clubs have safety rules in place and are insured by their governing body.
